Our story
From the Carolinas to the First Coast
Our founder started in real estate and mortgage loan processing before earning property and casualty licenses in 2006, then spent five years at Nationwide and six at Farm Bureau. The lesson from those captive years was simple: customers deserve more options than any one carrier can offer. Coastal Shield Insurance opened in 2017 to deliver exactly that.
When our family moved to sunny Florida, we brought the same promise with us and opened Tidal Shield Insurance as Coastal Shield's sister agency — the best products at the best prices, with coverage tailored to each household and expenses kept as low as possible.

Anna Brothers
Anna founded Coastal Shield Insurance in 2017 after more than a decade in insurance and real estate. Raised around the property business in the Baltimore–Annapolis area, she came to North Carolina to attend UNCW, earned her real estate broker's license in 2005, and added property, casualty, life, and health licenses in 2006. Years at Nationwide and NC Farm Bureau taught her exactly what she wanted her own agency to be: independent, local, and personal. When the family moved to sunny Florida, she opened Tidal Shield to bring the same approach to the First Coast.
